Jane Slusser joined Hilltop as a Partner in 2022.  She has over a decade of experience organizing on behalf of progressive political candidates and causes.

Jane got her start in politics organizing for President Obama’s 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns in Pennsylvania. She went on to manage Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney’s campaign, earning the largest margin of victory in the city’s mayoral primary in over 25 years. Slusser served as Chief of Staff for the first three years of his administration, where she led the city’s efforts to take back local control of the School District of Philadelphia, defend immigrants’ rights from the Trump administration’s attacks, and pass a sweetened beverage tax to fund quality pre-K, community schools, and a $500 million investment in parks, recreation centers and libraries.

Jane has led state and national advocacy campaigns for issues ranging from LGBTQ rights to the impeachment of Donald Trump. In 2020, Jane served as the National Campaign Director for Organizing Together 2020, a coalition of labor unions and progressive groups building progressive infrastructure in battleground states to defeat Donald Trump. In recent years she’s worked with a number of clients on projects promoting safe, secure, and accessible elections.

Jane graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Barnard College at Columbia University and before entering politics she was an Associate Editor for History at Oxford University Press.
