• In 2014, Hilltop helped the Public Access to SunScreens (PASS) coalition successfully move the Sunscreen Innovation Act through Congress and to the President’s desk. At key moments of the debate, the PASS coalition relied on Hilltop's grasstops team to generate letters, opinion editorials and phone calls from physicians, skin cancer survivors and influential activists to members whose support the coalition needed.

  
  

• In 2010, Hilltop managed the largest coalition in support of the Affordable Care Act. Composed of leading stakeholders in health care, labor and advocacy, the Hilltop-led coalition spent nearly $100 million on a campaign that included grasstops, grassroots, earned media and advertising.

  
  

• For many years, Hilltop assisted the Coalition for Safe & Innovative Medicine by using grasstops to demonstrate to Congress the negative consequences of treating biosimilars like other drugs. By organizing local patient groups concerned about safety and business interests concerned about innovation, Hilltop mobilized unlikely allies to give a multi-dimensional, local face to a complicated issue.

  
  

• In 2011, Hilltop helped the NFL Players Association organize business and civic leaders in NFL communities against the lockout. We worked with mayors, state legislators, team advertisers, police and restaurant owners to demonstrate in public ways that the lockout put more than just games at risk.

  
  

• With financial security at an all-time low, Hilltop has worked since 2006 with a coalition of stakeholders to put a spotlight on the issue and advocate for solutions that will help more Americans obtain a secure financial future. Using our national network, Hilltop has helped pass dozens of bills in states that increase financial literacy and give families the tools they need to find financial security.

  
  

• In December of 2014, Hilltop helped MetLife pass the first ever stand-alone fix to the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. It was a high-stakes campaign, with MetLife's CEO telling employees that "there has never been a policy issue of greater importance to MetLife." Hilltop engaged leading grasstops voices, including state insurance commissioners, legislators who served on the insurance committee, municipal chambers of commerce and local labor unions. Our work helped to convince liberal Democratic Senators that making this fix would not lead to further dilution of Dodd-Frank and to persuade conservative House Republicans that this bill should take priority over other legislation.
