As an executive assistant and associate, Lauren Asmus brings a dynamic background in communications to Hilltop’s Montana office. Lauren’s experience in both media research and content creation allow her to fluidly oversee all of her projects from planning to production.
From 2011 to 2014, Lauren worked for Montana nonprofits, specializing in child welfare advocacy and food sustainability. Her vast array of roles included marketing, community outreach, program development, fundraising, volunteer recruitment, and federal funding and policy research.
Prior to her work in Montana, Lauren’s academic work greatly contributed to the study of environmental media and political economy; she has published and presented on these issues.
She received her Master of Arts in Communications and Media and Certificate in Digital Media Production from Florida State University and her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from University of West Florida.
Lauren ventured west in 2011 to serve two terms in AmeriCorps VISTA. After growing up in multiple states and living internationally, Lauren considers Montana her long lost home. When she isn’t building community gardens or fixing her bike, she’s usually outside enjoying the great western wilderness.
