As a principal, Lauren Asmus brings a dynamic background in communications to Hilltop’s Montana office. Her nonprofit work in child welfare advocacy and food sustainability has thrown her into a vast array of roles, including communications and marketing, community outreach, program development, fundraising, volunteer management, and federal funding and policy research.
With specialties in both media research and content creation, Lauren fluidly oversees all of her projects from planning to production. In 2014 Lauren managed a series of co-occurring events across six target states, resulting robust earned media, multiple front-page stories, and english and spanish coverage.
She also has experience running and planning dynamic events, including high profile gatherings for officials, creative corporate giving and community engagement opportunities, and budget friendly nonprofit fundraisers.
As a military brat, Lauren was able to grow up all around the country and abroad, settling in Montana after several years as an AmeriCorps VISTA. She holds an MA in Communications and Media from Florida State University, where her research contributed to the study of environmental media and political economy.
