An accomplished political strategist and Oregon native, Jake Weigler is a partner at Hilltop Public Solutions.
Jake’s career in Oregon politics spans over twenty years, starting with an internship on Tom Bruggere’s 1996 U.S. Senate race. Since then, he’s also worked in Texas and Washington D.C. including positions at the Democratic National Committee and Media Matters for America.
Moving back to Oregon in 2006, Jake was a member of Governor Ted Kulongoski’s reelection campaign and then a spokesperson for Governor’s office. He served as the communications director for Attorney General Hardy Myers and Superintendent of Public Instruction Susan Castillo. Jake also managed Senator Ron Wyden’s 2010 campaign and Steve Novick’s upstart U.S. Senate race in 2008.
Working as a consultant since 2011, Jake has made a name for himself as an exceptional campaign and communications strategist. He’s helped elect Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler, Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum, Portland City Commissioner Nick Fish, State Representative Tawna Sanchez, as well as directing several successful ballot measures. He has also been active in several issue areas of public policy including energy/natural resources, education, gun violence prevention, medical innovation, criminal justice and transportation policy.
Jake graduated with a B.A. in Politics and Women’s’ Studies from New York University and earned his master’s degree in Government from The University of Texas at Austin. Jake lives in Southeast Portland with his wife and two daughters.
